MINT HILL — St. Luke Church Council 12832 recently wrapped up its annual “Feeding Families” collection drive of food items for the needy over the holidays, and the most recent collection was larger than ever thanks in part to council treasurer Bill Machold, who asked parishioners to get involved as a family project.
Eight families with 22 family members, along with 10 Knights, collected food for four weeks after Mass. Just before Christmas, these St. Luke parishioners helped the Knights deliver 10,000 pounds of food to needy families and groups, including Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte.
