GASTONIA — The St. Michael School girls’ volleyball team won the 2016-’17 CGAA Volleyball Conference Oct. 14. The third-seed team defeated second-seed St. Ann School of Rock Hill in two sets.
In the championship game, St. Michael defeated Mountain Island Day in two sets to win the tournament championship.
The team’s season record was 4-4, with a slow start to the season of 0-3. This is the first tournament championship in more than eight years.
