GREENSBORO — More than 400 faithful gathered for The Pregnancy Network’s 2023 Walk for Life April 29 at LeBauer Park in downtown Greensboro. St. Pius X Catholic Church, a longtime supporter of The Pregnancy Network, celebrated this life-affirming event with a walk team led by parishioner Julene Valitutto.
“I believe the best way to show our respect for life is to love women, mothers and children. The Pregnancy Network stands on the front lines, meeting women where they are. They show them a network and community of love and support,” said Valitutto. “When women feel supported, they feel the truth, and are empowered to choose life and be their best selves.”
The Pregnancy Network is a pro-life, multi-denominational Christian organization that cares for women and their unborn children before, during and after an unplanned pregnancy by inspiring a life-plan and providing life-giving support through medical services, pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, education, parenting classes, mentoring, spiritual guidance and more.
With locations in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, The Pregnancy Network depends on the generosity of local church communities as a partnership for life. This year’s Greensboro Walk for Life was a huge success, said Amelia Brady, development manager for The Pregnancy Network.
“Our total raised is $145,201, which will empower 97 Moms to choose life for their unborn children and close the gap by providing women in the Triad with life-affirming care,” said Brady. “I am thrilled that we raised over $25,000 more than last year’s Walk for Life in Greensboro and have made new partnerships with churches that have never participated in this event before. These new relationships, will lead to an even greater awareness in our neighborhoods, churches and circles we are a in, of the need to come alongside women and say, ‘You’ve got this, and we are here to help.”’
Brady continued, “I have been humbled to witness the generosity of our community. The passion for Jesus through our partners’ service for our ministry is such a beautiful picture of Jesus’ love for us and is shown by our partners coming alongside women in our community who are facing unplanned pregnancies — often times alone and full of fear — by supporting them, and ultimately, loving them just as Jesus loves us, without judgment and meeting them right where they are.”
