Ralph McCloud, director of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, will speak about “The Intersection of Poverty, Race, and Wealth in America” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at St. Eugene Church, located at 72 Culvern St. in Asheville.
This is a bilingual event, offered in English and Spanish. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Joseph Purello, director of Catholic Charities’ Social Concerns and Advocacy office, will join McCloud for a related talk two days later at St. Gabriel Church in Charlotte. They will speak on “The Intersection of Poverty, Race, and Wealth, and Health Outcomes in America – A Review of Current Data and Research” from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at St. Gabriel Church, located at 3016 Providence Road in Charlotte.
